Scandlines Helsingborg-Helsingör kicks off the holiday traffic season without delay
The second weekend in July always entails increased holiday traffic on the northbound route between Helsingör and Helsingborg. This year is no exception, and Scandlines Helsingborg-Helsingör transported almost 8,000 cars per day during the previous Friday-Sunday period – a 2% increase compared to 2017. This traffic was processed without queues or waiting time for the passengers.
“Our holiday customers appreciate the precision and stability as well as the high service level we offer to live up to our reputation as Öresund’s floating bridge. They also like the fact that we offer the shortest route across Öresund and that we are always on schedule. At the same time, we are very pleased with the way that the Swedish authorities ensure efficient and smooth traffic into Sweden. Border control, customs and police make great efforts to make the traffic run smoothly,” says CEO Johan Röstin, HH Ferries Group.
Six months ago, HH Ferries Group expanded capacity by increasing the number of departures with the ferry Hamlet. The initiative was well received, and the increased capacity has attracted additional customers and contributed to the fact that holiday traffic so far has been handled smoothly and without waiting time. The combination of frequent departures around the clock and the very high operating stability on the route makes the Helsingborg-Helsingör crossing very attractive – also during the holiday season.
“We have expanded capacity with the equivalent of many thousands of extra cars per year, and the expansion was really well-received. We are fortunate enough to be well-equipped to manage the increasing volume, and we do our utmost every day to provide customers with the right service experience on Öresund’s floating bridge, including when we get the next waves of increased holiday traffic in the coming weeks,” says Johan Röstin.
